This product consists of serum isolated from donors afflicted with Primary Biliary Cholangitis (PBC), a chronic cholestatic liver disease. These specimens typically exhibit high titers of anti-mitochondrial antibodies and elevated alkaline phosphatase levels. The serum provides a robust model for studying autoimmune-mediated destruction of the intrahepatic bile ducts and the inflammatory cascades leading to biliary cirrhosis and hepatic fibrosis.
