DSPE-TK-PEG-Mal consists of DSPE, a PEG spacer, a thioketal (TK) linker, and a Maleimide group. The thioketal linker is specifically cleavable by reactive oxygen species (ROS), which are highly abundant in inflammatory and tumor microenvironments. This allows for site-specific, ROS-triggered payload release, making it ideal for targeted therapy in diseases with oxidative stress.
