T cell clone BK6 was derived from a patient with an autoimmune disease. The structural data showed that BK6 TCR bound a kind of lipid ligands in the context of CD1a and indicate that these ligands are permissive for the recognition of CD1a by the autoreactive BK6 TCR.

It is a 1-octadecanoyl-2-octadecenoyl-sn-glycero-3-phosphocholine and a 1-acyl-2-oleoyl-sn-glycero-3-phosphocholine betaine. It is a conjugate base of a 1-stearoyl-2-oleoyl-sn-glycero-3-phosphocholine(1+).
