Isolated from donors with Gaucher's Disease, this serum reflects the systemic accumulation of glucosylceramide due to acid beta-glucosidase deficiency. The samples are characterized by elevated levels of chitotriosidase and CCL18. It provides a specialized substrate for monitoring metabolic flux, studying the "Gaucher cell" secretory profile, and researching the systemic inflammatory complications of sphingolipidosis.
