DSPE-PEG-DBCO consists of DSPE (1,2-distearoyl-sn-glycero-3-phosphoethanolamine), a PEG polymer, and a terminal DBCO group. The saturated lipid DSPE provides a highly stable anchor for incorporating into liposomal and micellar structures. The PEG spacer confers stealth properties, prolonging circulation time in biological systems. The DBCO group enables efficient, copper-free conjugation with azide-functionalized targeting ligands, drugs, or probes through SPAAC chemistry.
