ADIPOR2 Analysis

Several single nucleotide polymorphisms (SNPs) in adiponectin receptor 2 (ADIPOR2) have been proved to circulate adiponectin levels and obesity phenotypes. ADIPOR2 has also been shown to play important roles in the development of human tumors. With years of experience in assay design and lab analysis, Creative Biolabs can support your ADIPOR2 protein discovery pipeline by providing biomarker analysis on advanced platforms. Whether your study is designed or implemented by us, our focus on strategic assay validation/qualification enables us to accurately test your study samples and provide reliable biological translation to your drug discovery program.

Introduction

ADIPOR2 is a cell-surface receptor abundantly expressed in skeletal muscle and liver, serving as a receptor for both globular and full-length adiponectin. Human ADIPOR2 is a 7-transmembrane (148-168, 182-202, 214-234, 246-266, 274-294, 310-330, 349-369 aa) protein with the opposite topology of G protein-coupled receptors (GPCRs), having its N-terminal end at the cytoplasmic side (1-147 aa) and C-terminal end at the extracellular side (370-386 aa).

ADIPOR2 is abundantly expressed in the liver, where it is linked to the activation of peroxisome proliferator-activated receptor (PPAR)-α pathways. The functions of activated ADIPOR2 are shown in Fig.2. Destruction of ADIPOR2 causes insulin resistance and glucose intolerance because of impaired adiponectin connection to these receptors and its performance.

Diagnostic Power

There are few studies of variant rs11061971 of ADIPOR2 gene. Limited reports suggest that gene ADIPOR2 (rs11061971) has an association with obesity, insulin resistance (IR), and type 2 diabetes (T2D). A sequence variant in the intron 5 of the gene ADIPOR2, rs767870, is associated with cardiovascular disease. Nevertheless, such silent SNP could influence adiponectin receptor concentrations with unknown mechanisms. Therefore, the presence of rs11061971 polymorphism of gene ADIPOR2 could be used as a protective marker for related diseases.

We Have Your Biomarker Assay Needs Covered

While great strides have been made in targeted therapies, improved biomarker discovery is needed to realize the full potential of precision medicine. Creative Biolabs will develop all necessary analytical methods applicable to the specific experimental matrix and formulation type. At Creative Biolabs, pre-made anti-ADIPOR2 monoclonal antibodies are expressed by mammalian cell line as benchmark antibodies for immunoassay, affinity binding assay or functional assay development, animal model development, and PK/PD model development. Our ADIPOR2-targeting services include but are not limited to the following:
