This assay is to provide HEL-based In Vitro RNA Expression Analysis Assay (SAGE) to accelerate our client's oncology projects. The assay will be customized according to the specific requirements. Please contact our scientists to discuss more details.
Target Cell Name
HEL
Target Cell Organism
Human
Target Cell Background
A new human erythroleukemia cell line has been established. This line, designated HEL, is capable of spontaneous and induced globin synthesis, producing mainly Gγ and Aγ chains. Embryonic chains (ε, ζ) and α chains are detectable in very small amounts; β chains are undetectable. This line provides a new model system for studying aspects of erythroid cell differentiation and differential globin gene expression.

Assay Name
In Vitro RNA Expression Analysis Assay (SAGE)
Short Description
HEL-cell based In Vitro RNA Expression Analysis Assay (SAGE)
Assay Description
Serial analysis of gene expression (SAGE) is another molecular biological technique used to analyze gene expression. In this technique, mRNA extracted from the sample is reverse transcribed into cDNA and the resulting cDNA is then digested by restriction enzymes to produce tags. These tags are amplified by PCR and subjected to sequencing. Several modifications to SAGE such as Long SAGE, RL-SAGE and Super SAGE have been introduced to improve the SAGE technique.
Assay Type
Gene and Protein Expression Assays
Assay Type Details
Following transcription, primary transcript RNA is converted into mature RNA by post-transcriptional modifications. Post-transcriptional modification includes three major steps namely the addition of a 5'cap, addition of a 3'polyadenylation tail and RNA splicing. Stability of RNA has been considered as very important for gene expression and proteins at the post-transcriptional level.
