PharmaOnco™ HEK293-Tg(Human PD-1) Stable Cell Line, Single Clone (CAT#: ITS-0822-HMM191)

DatasheetDatasheet
Short Description
Creative Biolabs offers HEK293-Tg(Human PD-1) stable cell line which the PD-1 gene stably expressed in HEK293 cells.
Description
HEK293-Tg(Human PD-1) stable cell line is a cell line that has been engineered to express the human PD-1 protein. PD-1, or programmed cell death protein 1, is a receptor on the surface of T cells that plays a key role in regulating the immune response. The stable cell line can be used for various research applications, such as studying the function of PD-1 in immune regulation, screening for potential immunotherapy drugs that target PD-1, or investigating the interactions between PD-1 and its ligands.

Background
The PD-1 gene, also known as programmed cell death protein 1, is a gene that encodes a protein found on the surface of T cells and other immune cells. PD-1 plays a crucial role in regulating the immune response by inhibiting T cell activity and preventing autoimmunity. However, overexpression of PD-1 can also suppress the immune response against cancer cells, allowing tumors to evade detection and destruction by the immune system. Therapies targeting PD-1, such as checkpoint inhibitors, have been developed to block the interaction between PD-1 and its ligands, releasing the brakes on the immune response and helping the body's immune system to attack and eliminate cancer cells. These treatments have shown significant success in treating various types of cancer, including melanoma, lung cancer, and lymphoma.
