Target Cell Organism: Human
Target Cell Name: MOLT-4
Assay Type: Oxidative Stress Assays
Assay Overview
This assay is to provide MOLT-4-based In Vitro ABTS Radical Cation Decolorization Assay (Oxidative Stress) to accelerate our client's oncology projects. The assay will be customized according to the specific requirements. Please contact our scientists to discuss more details.
Target Cell Name
MOLT-4
Target Cell Organism
Human
Target Cell Background
MOLT-4 is a T lymphoblast cell line derived from the same patient as the MOLT-3 cell line. The line was established from cells taken from a 19-year-old, male patient with Acute lymphoblastic leukemia (ALL) in relapse. This cell line can be used in immunology and immune system disorder research.
Related Diseases

Assay Name
In Vitro ABTS Radical Cation Decolorization Assay (Oxidative Stress)
Short Description
MOLT-4-cell based In Vitro ABTS Radical Cation Decolorization Assay (Oxidative Stress)
Assay Description
It's a commonly used simple antioxidant assay. The ability of antioxidants to reduce ABTS free radical (ABTS.) to ABTS is measured in the ABTS assay.
Assay Type
Oxidative Stress Assays
Assay Type Details
Disturbance between the production of reactive oxygen species (ROS), free radicals and antioxidant mechanisms is defined as the oxidative stress, or more precisely, it is an imbalance between the oxidant and antioxidant state in cells. This imbalance can cause harmful effects to cells and biomolecules, which ultimately causes adverse effects in the whole organism. Oxidative imbalance can target important proteinsand lipids in cells, which can increase the risk of developing a cancer. On the other hand, increased ROS production in cancer cells by certain cancer drugs can also arrest cancer cell cycle and cause senescence and apoptosis through oxidative stress.
