Hemoglobin is a tetramer composed of two alpha-globin and two beta-globin chains. The HBB gene encodes the hemoglobin beta chain, and each chain contains a heme group that cooperates in oxygen binding and release. Hemoglobin monomers are found in blood and tissues like macrophages, alveolar epithelial cells, and the brain. Mutations in the HBB gene are linked to disorders such as sickle cell anemia, beta-thalassemia, and Heinz body anemias.

To ensure the preservation of their functional properties, all reagents within this kit must be maintained at a temperature between 2°C and 8°C. Under these storage conditions, the kit will retain its effectiveness for a period of 6 to 12 months following receipt.
