Short Description
Streamline TTR staining procedures with this all-inclusive IHC kit, pre-formulated with reagents for a complete workflow.
Description
Transthyretin (TTR) is a plasma transport protein for thyroxine and retinol. It is a homotetramer synthesized mainly in the liver, choroid plexus, retinal pigment epithelium, and pancreas. Mutant and wild-type TTR are associated with amyloid deposition in various forms of amyloidosis. TTR defects cause transthyretin-related amyloidosis (AMYL-TTR), hyperthyroxinemia, and carpal tunnel syndrome (CTS1). TTR immunostaining is also used as a diagnostic marker for choroid plexus tumors.
