Assay Type: Cell Viability/Cytotoxicity and Antiproliferative Assays
Assay Overview
This assay is to provide Raji-based In Vitro BrdU Assay (Cell Proliferation) to accelerate our client's oncology projects. The assay will be customized according to the specific requirements. Please contact our scientists to discuss more details.
Target Cell Name
Raji
Target Cell Organism
Human
Target Cell Background
Raji cells were derived from the B-lymphocytes of an 11-year-old Nigerian Burkitt's lymphoma male patient in 1963 by R.J.V. Pulvertaft and was further worked on by B.O. Osunkoya (University College Hospital, Ibadan, Nigeria). The Raji cell line is categorized as lymphoblast-like.

Assay Name
In Vitro BrdU Assay (Cell Proliferation)
Short Description
Raji-cell based In Vitro BrdU Assay (Cell Proliferation)
Assay Description
5-Bromo-2'-deoxyuridine (BrdU) assay is another methodological approach used to determine cell proliferation. BrdU incorporated into synthesized DNA can be determined using BrdU-specific monoclonal antibody. A secondary antibody is used to generate fluorescent signal on DNA synthesis.
Assay Alternative Names
5-Bromo-2'-deoxyuridine (BrdU) Assay
Assay Type
Cell Viability/Cytotoxicity and Antiproliferative Assays
Assay Type Details
Uncontrolled proliferation is one of the main features of cancer cells. Cell-based in vitro assays are employed to determine whether test molecules possess direct cytotoxic/antiproliferative effects in cancer cells.
