CAT#: ITS-1022-YF4634
Target Cell Organism: Human
Target Cell Name: SNB-19
Assay Type: Cell Viability/Cytotoxicity and Antiproliferative Assays
Assay Overview
This assay is to provide SNB-19-based In Vitro BrdU Assay (Cell Proliferation) to accelerate our client's oncology projects. The assay will be customized according to the specific requirements. Please contact our scientists to discuss more details.
Target Cell Name
SNB-19
Target Cell Organism
Human
Target Cell Background
SNB-19 is a human glioblastoma cell line that was isolated from a left parieto-occipital glioblastoma of a 47-year-old male patient in 1980. In a 1988 study, published in Cancer Research Journal, the SNB-19 cell line was the most clonogenic in soft agar and showed the most tumorigenicity in nude mice.

Assay Name
In Vitro BrdU Assay (Cell Proliferation)
Short Description
SNB-19-cell based In Vitro BrdU Assay (Cell Proliferation)
Assay Description
5-Bromo-2'-deoxyuridine (BrdU) assay is another methodological approach used to determine cell proliferation. BrdU incorporated into synthesized DNA can be determined using BrdU-specific monoclonal antibody. A secondary antibody is used to generate fluorescent signal on DNA synthesis.
Assay Alternative Names
5-Bromo-2'-deoxyuridine (BrdU) Assay
Assay Type
Cell Viability/Cytotoxicity and Antiproliferative Assays
Assay Type Details
Uncontrolled proliferation is one of the main features of cancer cells. Cell-based in vitro assays are employed to determine whether test molecules possess direct cytotoxic/antiproliferative effects in cancer cells.
Assay Subtype
Cell Proliferation Assay
Assay MOA
Cell-based Assays Based on DNA Synthesis
