Description
"Hard" or difficult to cut tissue has always been a part of the Histology laboratory.
Even Decalcification methods are partially reversed after processing.
Alcohols and Xylenes make bone and nails, and very muscular tissue hard to cut, giving the histotechnician a frustrating job.
They deal with "venetian blind effects", holes in the tissue, and extra time spent trying to get good sections.
Soft Block helps eliminate these issues. Simply trim into the paraffin block face a few microns and soak the block face in Soft Block.
The soaking time should be judged by the thickness and type of tissue.
