Description
Alcian Blue dye is used to demonstrate glycosaminoglycans in mucins, for staining amyloid, cysteine, and for polychromatic staining of mast cells according to Alcian-Blue Safranin. It is also used to determine bacterial species and detect bacterial capsules. The Alcian Blue pH 2.5 kit enables adequate staining and visualization of acid mucins without staining sulfated mucins. The washes have the same pH, making the reaction more specific. Nuclei were stained red using a counterstain.
