Description
CytoFinal™ Human L-Lactate Dehydrogenase A Chain (LDHA) ELISA Kit is a highly sensitive sandwich ELISA designed for the quantitative detection of LDHA in human samples. This assay enables accurate measurement of LDHA concentrations in serum, plasma, tissue lysates, and cell culture supernatants, supporting studies on metabolic reprogramming, hypoxia responses, and disease-associated cellular metabolism.
Features
Sensitive sandwich ELISA format enables accurate quantification of human LDHA across a broad dynamic concentration range in biological samples.
Optimized antibody pair ensures strong specificity toward human LDHA while minimizing background signal and cross-reactivity with related proteins.
Pre-coated microplate and standardized reagents support streamlined workflows and consistent results across repeated experimental assays.
Compatible with multiple human sample types including serum, plasma, tissue homogenates, and cultured cell lysates.

Background
Lactate dehydrogenase A (LDHA) is a key enzyme involved in anaerobic glycolysis, catalyzing the conversion of pyruvate into lactate while regenerating NAD+. This process supports cellular energy production under hypoxic or metabolically demanding conditions. Dysregulated LDHA expression is frequently linked to cancer metabolism, inflammation, and tissue damage.
Pathways
LDHA functions in the glycolysis and lactate fermentation pathways, maintaining NAD+ levels required for continuous glycolytic flux. Its expression is frequently regulated by hypoxia-inducible factors such as HIF-1α. Increased LDHA activity contributes to metabolic reprogramming observed in tumor cells and other rapidly proliferating tissues.
