Description
CytoFinal™ High Sensitivity Human Alanine Aminotransferase 1 / ALT (GPT) ELISA Kit enables precise quantification of ALT protein concentrations in human biological samples. Based on a sandwich enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay, the kit utilizes highly specific antibodies to capture and detect ALT1, providing reliable measurement in serum, plasma, and cell culture samples for liver function research and biomarker analysis.
Features
Highly sensitive sandwich ELISA design enables accurate detection of low-abundance ALT protein levels in complex biological matrices.
Specific monoclonal antibody pair ensures strong target recognition with minimal cross-reactivity against related aminotransferase enzymes.
Standard 96-well microplate format allows convenient processing of multiple samples with compatibility across common ELISA plate readers.
Optimized reagents and calibrated standards support reproducible quantification with robust signal stability and excellent assay-to-assay consistency.

Background
Alanine aminotransferase 1 (ALT1), also called glutamate-pyruvate transaminase, is a cytosolic enzyme primarily expressed in hepatocytes. It catalyzes transamination between alanine and α-ketoglutarate, producing pyruvate and glutamate. Because ALT is released into circulation following hepatocellular injury, it is widely used as a biomarker for liver damage and metabolic dysfunction.
Pathways
ALT functions in the alanine-glucose cycle, linking peripheral amino acid metabolism with hepatic gluconeogenesis. Through the generation of pyruvate, ALT contributes to glucose production and connects amino acid catabolism with the tricarboxylic acid (TCA) cycle and cellular energy metabolism.
