Description
BALB/c mouse peripheral blood mononuclear cells (PBMCs) are immune cells found in the bloodstream of BALB/c mice. These cells play a critical role in the immune response by detecting and fighting off pathogens and foreign invaders.
Species character
The BALB/c mouse is a commonly-used inbred mouse strain for the study of autoimmune diseases and pathogen-driven immune response. They carry the H-2d haplotype and their immune cells are routinely used in immune-based assays. Based on early studies, the BALB/c mouse is biased towards a Th2 antibody-mediated immune response when challenged appropriately. Thus, the BALB/c mouse is well-studied in the field of immunology and their cells (like these BALB/c Mouse PBMCs) may offer experimental advantages depending on the parameters of your experiments.

Quality Control
Cultures are screened for the presence of bacteries, yeast, fungi and mycoplasma (DNA amplification). Growth media are also certified based on U.S. Public Health Service Guidelines.
Storage
Lyophilized cells should be stored in a liquid nitrogen tank (-150°C~-190°C). After thawing, cells should be immediately transferred to the appropriate culture medium and maintained under recommended culture conditions.
Handling Notes
Frozen cells should be thawed immediately upon receipt and grown according to handling procedure to ensure cell viability and proper assay performance.
Note: Do not freeze the cells upon receipt as it may result in irreversible damage to the cell line.
