Background
CD56+ cells are a type of immune cell that express the cell surface protein CD56. These cells, also known as natural killer (NK) cells, play an important role in the body's immune response by directly killing virus-infected cells, tumor cells, and other abnormal cells. CD56+ cells are a key component of the innate immune system and are important for the body's defense against infections and cancer. In addition to their role in killing target cells, CD56+ cells also produce cytokines that help regulate the immune response.
