A leukopak is an enriched apheresis product collected via leukapheresis, the act of extracting white blood cells (WBCs) from the peripheral blood. During this procedure, leukocytes are separated from whole blood with/without platelets with continuous or intermittent return of the RBCs and platelet- and leukocyte-poor plasma to a donor. Leukopaks contain a high concentration of peripheral blood mononuclear cells (PBMCs) - which consists of T cells, B cells, NK cells, and monocytes.
