Description
Naïve pan T cells express a broad range of T cell receptors (TCR) that allow them to recognize a wide variety of antigens. They play a key role in the adaptive immune response by initiating and coordinating the immune response against pathogens.
Background
A naïve T cell is a T cell that has matured and been released by the thymus but has not yet encountered its corresponding antigen. Recruitment of naive T cells to lymph nodes is essential for the development of adaptive immunity. Naïve T cells are valuable tools when studying mechanisms of T cell activation and are required for foundational research into infectious diseases, cancer and transplantation.
