Description
GLUT3 (SLC2A3) is a critical transporter within the GLUT family, mainly expressed in the brain, but also present in other high-glucose-demand tissues, such as sperm and preimplantation embryos. Its expression in carcinoma cell lines has led to its recognition as a specific marker for embryonal carcinomas and yolk tumors. GLUT14 is a duplicate of GLUT3, with high sequence similarity. The primary antibody in this kit targets the internal region of GLUT3 and might cross-react with GLUT14.
