Description
HADHB, also known as TP-beta or acetyl-CoA acyltransferase, is the beta subunit of the mitochondrial trifunctional enzyme. This enzyme plays a key role in the final three steps of the mitochondrial beta-oxidation pathway, which is essential for energy production in cells, particularly by breaking down long-chain fatty acids into acetyl-CoA. HADHB, together with HADHA, forms the heterotetrameric complex responsible for these enzymatic activities.
