Introduction of Patient Derived Xenografted Models
PDX models involve implanting patient tumor tissue directly into immunocompromised mice. This technique surpasses traditional cell line models (CDXs) by preserving the crucial tumor heterogeneity and the native tumor microenvironment (TME), including stroma and vasculature. Leveraging its wealth of information on more than 400 fully characterized proprietary PDX in the portfolio, Creative Biolabs is dedicated to helping scientists in immuno-oncology research and providing the most appropriate PDX models for pre-clinical testing.

FAQs
Q: How do you ensure the genetic stability of the PDX model, given concerns about mouse stroma taking over?
A: We stringently maintain our PDX models at low passage numbers, which is critical for preventing genetic drift and maintaining the original patient tumor heterogeneity. Furthermore, we implement routine quality control using species-specific PCR assays and IHC to confirm the ratio of human tumor cells to mouse stroma, guaranteeing the continued translational relevance of the model.
Q: Can PDX models be used for immunotherapy studies?
A: Absolutely. While standard PDX models are immunocompromised, Creative Biolabs offers specialized humanized mouse models. These models are engrafted with human immune components, providing a fully functional platform to evaluate the efficacy of immunotherapies, checkpoint inhibitors, and CAR-T cell agents under highly relevant in vivo conditions.
