Assay Overview
This assay is to provide HeLa-based In Vivo Metastasis Assay to accelerate our client's oncology projects. The assay will be customized according to the specific requirements. Please contact our scientists to discuss more details.
Target Cell Name
HeLa
Target Cell Organism
Human
Target Cell Background
In 1952, HeLa cells became the first human cell line that could grow and divide endlessly in a laboratory, leading scientists to label these cells "immortal". The immortality of HeLa cells contributed to their adoption across the world as the human cell line of choice for biomedical research.

Short Description
HeLa-cell based In Vivo Metastasis Assay
Assay Description
Metastasis is defined as the formation of tumors that are discontinuous from the primary tumor. These secondary tumors can be at nearby or distant sites and can form, following the dissemination of cells via lymphatic, hematogenous, coelomic cavities, or epithelial cavities. Metastasis is not equivalent to invasion, adhesion, growth rate, susceptibility to immune cell killing, or any of the many steps in the metastatic cascade. These processes are necessary for successful colonization of the secondary sites, but they are not sufficient for a cell to be metastatic. Analysis of tumor growth and metastasis of human cancers requires the use of immunodeficient animals. Please contact us to learn more and offer the best-fit proposals for your program.
