Short Description
Creative Biolabs offers Human CD4+//CD45RO+ Memory T Cells for a wide variety of function assays.
Description
Human CD4+//CD45RO+ memory T cells are a subset of memory T cells that are distinguished by the expression of two cell surface markers - CD4 and CD45RO. CD4 is a co-receptor that helps T cells recognize antigens presented by antigen-presenting cells, while CD45RO is a marker for memory T cells. Human CD4+//CD45RO+ memory T cells play a key role in the adaptive immune response, providing protection against pathogens that the immune system has encountered before.
Background
CD4+ cells, also known as T-helper cells, are a type of white blood cell that play a critical role in the functioning of the immune system. These cells are responsible for coordinating the immune response by activating and directing other immune cells to defend against pathogens such as bacteria, viruses, and other foreign invaders. CD4+ cells also play a key role in adaptive immunity, a specific immune response that develops after exposure to a pathogen to provide long-lasting protection against future infections. In individuals with human immunodeficiency virus (HIV), the virus specifically targets and infects CD4+ cells, leading to a weakening of the immune system and increased susceptibility to infections.
