Human CD4⁺//CD45RO⁺ memory T cells are a subset of memory T cells that are distinguished by the expression of two cell surface markers - CD4 and CD45RO. CD4 is a co-receptor that helps T cells recognize antigens presented by antigen-presenting cells, while CD45RO is a marker for memory T cells. Human CD4⁺//CD45RO⁺ memory T cells play a key role in the adaptive immune response, providing protection against pathogens that the immune system has encountered before.
