Tumor Cell Tube Formation Assay Service

Tumor Angiogenesis

Tumor cell angiogenesis is an essential process in the progression of cancer, playing a pivotal role in the growth and spread of tumors. Tumor angiogenesis is a critical component in the shift from a benign to a malignant state for tumors. In the context of cancer, tumors secrete angiogenic factors such as VEGF to stimulate the surrounding blood vessels to proliferate and form new channels. This neovascularization feeds the tumor with oxygen and nutrients while providing a route for metastatic cells to disseminate to distant organs. As a result, targeting angiogenesis in oncologic therapies has become a promising strategy, providing a pathway to mitigate tumor growth and dissemination. Understanding and accurately assessing angiogenesis are important for developing targeted therapies aimed at inhibiting tumor growth and improving patient outcomes.

Tube Formation Assay Services For Evaluating Tumor Angiogenesis

At Creative Biolabs, we offer a comprehensive cell tube formation assay service specifically designed to evaluate the potential of your anti-angiogenic compounds. This assay is an invaluable tool for researchers intent on understanding the complexities of tumor vascularization and developing novel anti-angiogenic therapies. Our assay utilizes human umbilical vein endothelial cells (HUVEC), widely recognized for their ability to mimic the natural processes of angiogenesis in vitro. Equipped with state-of-the-art technology, we ensure precise and reliable results to support your research endeavors. Utilizing state-of-the-art confocal high-content imaging systems, we deliver detailed visual and quantitative data. Our service includes detailed reports that feature significant findings such as minimum inhibitory concentration (MIC) and half-maximal growth inhibitory concentration (GI50) values. These insights are crucial for advancing your research and development processes, providing actionable data that can inform subsequent studies and therapeutic strategies.

Published Data

A study has investigated the ability of HUVECs to form tubular networks when exposed to a conditioned medium from the RMG-1 cells. The tube formation observed in the RMG-1 cell medium without IL-6 inhibition was comparable to that in media supplemented with recombinant VEGF. The anti-VEGF antibody significantly inhibited tube formation in both media types without IL-6 inhibition, suggesting RMG-1 cells may secrete VEGF. However, the effectiveness of the anti-VEGF antibody was greatly reduced by anti-IL-6 antibody in the RMG-1 conditioned medium. This reduction was dose-dependent.
