Description
Human CD8+//CD45RA+ naive cytotoxic T cells, also known as naive CD8+ T cells, are a subset of immune cells that play a crucial role in the adaptive immune response. These cells are characterized by the expression of CD8 surface marker. CD45RA is a marker that is typically found on naive T cells. Human CD8+//CD45RA+ naive cytotoxic T cells are essential for immune surveillance and protection against infections and cancer. Their proper functioning is critical for maintaining immune homeostasis and overall health.
Background
CD8+ cells, also known as cytotoxic T cells, are a type of white blood cell that play a critical role in the immune system's response to infections and cancer. These cells are responsible for recognizing and destroying infected or abnormal cells in the body. CD8+ cells are able to recognize specific antigens on the surface of target cells, leading to the release of toxic molecules that induce cell death. This process helps to eliminate infected cells and prevent the spread of pathogens. In addition to their role in fighting infections, CD8+ cells also play a key role in the immune response to cancer. By targeting and destroying cancerous cells, these cells help to prevent the development and progression of tumors.
