Background
Immature dendritic cells are a type of immune cell that plays a key role in initiating and regulating the body's immune response. These cells are found in various tissues throughout the body and are characterized by their high surface expression of antigen-presenting molecules, such as MHC class II and co-stimulatory molecules. Immature dendritic cells are responsible for capturing and processing antigens from pathogens or other foreign substances, and then presenting these antigens to other immune cells to initiate an immune response. In their immature state, dendritic cells are not fully activated and are considered to be in a resting state. However, upon encountering antigens, these cells undergo a process of maturation where they become activated and migrate to secondary lymphoid organs, such as lymph nodes, to present antigens to other immune cells.
