Description
Cynomolgus macaque monkey CD4 T cells can be purified using various techniques such as magnetic cell separation or flow cytometry. These cells play a crucial role in the immune response by helping coordinate the response of other immune cells. Purified CD4 T cells can be used in research studies to better understand immune function, develop vaccines, and study diseases such as HIV/AIDS.
Species character
The cynomolgus macaque is the most commonly utilized non-human primate in biomedical research. According to some researchers, these monkeys are ideal models due to the 90-93% genetic similarity to and recent evolutionary divergence from humans. They are employed in numerous research areas, such as immunology, neuroscience, oncology, diabetes, and pharmacology due to their genetics and physiology.
Background
Cynomolgus CD4 T cells make up approximately 25-47% of PBMCs in a typical adult monkey. These cells carry the CD4 protein marker and the T cell receptor (TCR), which recognizes foreign antigens presented by major histocompatibility complex class II molecules on antigen presenting cells to activate them.

Quality Control

Storage
Lyophilized cells should be stored in a liquid nitrogen tank (-150°C~-190°C). After thawing, cells should be immediately transferred to the appropriate culture medium and maintained under recommended culture conditions.
Handling Notes
Frozen cells should be thawed immediately upon receipt and grown according to handling procedure to ensure cell viability and proper assay performance.
Note: Do not freeze the cells upon receipt as it may result in irreversible damage to the cell line.
