PharmaOnco™ GAD65-Specific T cells (CAT#: ITS-0423-LX5)

DatasheetDatasheet
Short Description
Creative Biolabs offers GAD65-Specific T cells for immunity reaserch.
Description
GAD65-specific T cells are T cells that are specific for the enzyme glutamic acid decarboxylase 65 (GAD65), which is found in the pancreas and is thought to play a role in the development of type 1 diabetes. These T cells recognize and target GAD65 as an antigen, leading to an autoimmune response that can lead to the destruction of insulin-producing beta cells in the pancreas. This ultimately results in the development of type 1 diabetes.
Background
GAD65-specific T cells are a type of T cell that specifically targets the glutamic acid decarboxylase 65 (GAD65) protein. GAD65 is an enzyme involved in the synthesis of the neurotransmitter gamma-aminobutyric acid (GABA) and is a major autoantigen in type 1 diabetes. GAD65-specific T cells play a critical role in the pathogenesis of type 1 diabetes by recognizing and attacking beta cells in the pancreas that produce insulin. When activated, these T cells can induce inflammation and destruction of pancreatic beta cells, leading to a loss of insulin production and the development of diabetes.
