PharmaOnco™ Woodchuck Bone Marrow Cells (CAT#: IC-LX075)

DatasheetDatasheet
Short Description
Creative Biolabs offers Woodchuck Bone Marrow Cells for a wide variety of safety assessment and functional studies.
Description
Woodchuck bone marrow cells are cells found in the bone marrow of woodchucks, which are large ground squirrels native to North America. Like in humans, bone marrow cells in woodchucks play a crucial role in maintaining a healthy immune system and are essential for the overall health of the animal. These cells can be used in research studies to better understand various diseases and develop new treatment strategies.
Species character
Woodchucks used for research purposes are mostly caught out in the wild and outbred, which can be infected with woodchuck herpes virus (WHV). WHV is an ideal model to study the pathogenesis and therapy of hepatitis B virus (HBV) and hepatitis D virus (HDV), which makes woodchuck the most commonly used animal model for the study of these viruses. Research on HBV using the WHV model focuses on disease and viral pathogenesis, in addition to prevention and treatment of HBV infection.
Background
BMCs have multiple utility for transplantation as they support stem and progenitor cells and may differentiate into a number of cell types. BMCs including MSCs and HSCs have a high potential for differentiation into liver cells.
