The research reports on tin monosulfide nanoparticles (SnSNPs) as nano-sonosensitizers that overcome the dense stromal barrier in tumors via a denaturation-and-penetration approach. SnSNPs generate reactive oxygen species under ultrasound activation and exhibit mild photothermal properties that denature tumor collagen, facilitating deep penetration and boosting antitumor immunity. This combined sono-immunotherapy approach demonstrated remarkable anti-tumor efficacy in mouse models of triple-negative breast cancer and hepatocellular carcinoma.
