Description B3GALT1 knockout HepG2 cell line lacks B3GALT1 protein, beta-1,3-galactosyltransferase 1, a member of the beta3GalT family with diverse glycosylation functions in liver cells. B3GALT1 knockout in HepG2 cells enables study of glycosylation pathway disruption in liver cancer, potentially affecting various O- and N-linked glycosylation processes in hepatocytes and broader glycosylation dependent liver tumor cell properties.
