Ever wonder about those tiny chains called Xylooligosaccharides? We often just call them XOS, and they're like little molecular strings made up of anywhere from a couple to seven xylose sugar units, all linked together in a specific way. Now, what makes XOS truly special is its role as a real superstar prebiotic. They've shown some genuinely heartening effects when it comes to keeping your gut in tip-top shape, giving your immune system a real boost, and even playing a part in how your body manages its sugar levels. At Creative Biolabs, we've thrown ourselves into building up a solid base of knowledge in the world of Carbohydrate Analysis. We provide tried-and-true methods for precisely measuring a whole spectrum of saccharides, from the simple Monosaccharide right up to the more complex Oligosaccharide, Polysaccharide, and Amino Sugar, including XOS.
XOS of different lengths act differently once they get into your system- they get broken down at different speeds and are more or less picky about which good gut bacteria they help to thrive. For example, xylobiose and xylotriose are the real workhorses in the XOS world, well-known for their knack for significantly boosting the populations of those beneficial bifidobacteria and lactic acid bacteria. We accurately analyze the key components of xylose, xylobiose, xylotriose, xylotetrose, and other key components in XOS. This gives our clients a super clear picture of exactly what their product is made up of and its unique characteristics, ultimately helping them make sure it hits all the right quality marks.
Our laboratory is equipped with some of the smartest analytical gadgets out there, and we are backed by a team of seasoned experts who know the ins and outs of this stuff. This means we provide our clients not just run-of-the-mill services, but insightful solutions and all the technical backup they could need, making sure those vital XOS analyses on your samples are carried out both swiftly and with pinpoint accuracy. We use a whole toolkit of sophisticated techniques, including ion chromatography (IC), high-performance liquid chromatography (HPLC), and mass spectrometry (MS), all aimed at making sure the results we give you are as accurate and dependable as they can be.
We've put a rock-solid quality management system in place that covers every single step of the XOS analysis journey, guaranteeing the consistency and reliability of the results you get from us. What's more, we don't just hand you a bunch of numbers, we provide detailed analysis reports - complete with the visual data (chromatograms), the actual figures, and our expert take on what it all means - giving our clients a truly comprehensive understanding of the analysis from start to finish.
Our XOS analysis service isn't just for one type of industry, we cater to a whole range. No matter what kind of product you're dealing with, we are geared up to meet your analytical needs and provide you with solutions that are not only comprehensive but also perfectly tailored to your specific situation.
At Creative Biolabs, our goal is simple: to give our clients XOS analysis services that are not just accurate and reliable but also delivered with a real sense of efficiency. We are in the business of helping your products not just get to market but shine. Knowing that everyone's needs are a little different, we pride ourselves on crafting analysis solutions that can be precisely tailored to you. Whether you just need a quick check on one specific ingredient or a full-blown investigation into the XOS composition, we can tweak our services to fit exactly what you're after. Please don't hesitate to contact us whenever you're ready to explore how we can help and get a professional quote that's just right for you.
Prebiotics are compounds that promote the growth of beneficial intestinal microorganisms. This paper explores the potential of XOS extracted from barley straw as a prebiotic. The authors pretreated the barley straw and collected three pretreated fractions, F1, F2, and F3, by fractionation. The authors determined the distribution of XOS in each fraction by gel permeation chromatography and isolated high-purity XOS in the F2 sample, which was pure enough to be used as a commercial prebiotic.

A1: Getting your samples prepped just right is key to getting results you can trust. Our usual approach involves a combination of filtering to get rid of any big chunks and, if needed, a step called solid-phase extraction (SPE) to pull out anything else that might mess with the analysis. For trickier samples, we might even need to use enzymes to break things down a bit. We've put together detailed guides for prepping all sorts of different samples, so just give us the lowdown on what you are working with, and we'll give you a preparation plan that's a perfect fit.
A2: Our XOS analysis service is designed to be pretty comprehensive. We can not only tell them apart but also measure individual oligosaccharides based on their degree of polymerization (DP) - basically, how many xylose units are linked up. If you have specific types of XOS you're interested in zeroing in on, just let us know the details, and we can tailor our analysis to focus on exactly those.
A3: Absolutely, that's something we've got a fair bit of experience with. We've tackled the analysis of XOS in all sorts of complex matrices, including food items, and fermentation broths. We use specialized techniques to prepare these samples, along with chromatographic methods, all aimed at minimizing any interference from the surrounding material and making sure our measurements are spot on. We even develop custom analysis methods to deal with the unique challenges that your specific sample might throw our way.
Stable and Reliable Analytical Data
"For the last three years, Creative Biolabs has been our go-to for testing the amount of xylooligosaccharides in our products. The consistency of the data they provide is truly impressive - the batch-to-batch variation is consistently tiny, usually less than 1.5%, which gives us real peace of mind about the quality of our products."
Flexible Cooperation Model
"The xylooligosaccharide analysis service from Creative Biolabs has been nothing short of top-notch. The results are always accurate and dependable, which has been a massive help in our understanding of what makes up our products and has provided strong backing for our ongoing research and development efforts.
