Urine Glycoprofiling Service
Reliable Glycoprofiling Service in Urine at Creative Biolabs
Urine is a commonly used biological specimen in research and clinical diagnosis. Its collection is relatively simple and non-invasive. The glycoprofiling in urine contains many biomarkers, which is of great significance for the discovery, diagnosis, and monitoring of diseases. It can help diagnose kidney disease, urinary system diseases, and other chronic diseases, providing strong support for medical diagnosis. Creative Biolabs focuses on Glycoprotein Analysis, we provide a variety of biological samples glycoprofiling services, such as serum, plasma, tissue, urine, and other biological samples. As experts in the field of analysis, we provide professional glycoprofiling services according to client needs and sample characteristics.
Glycoprofiling of urine helps to understand disease states and biological functions by studying its glycosyl structure. The following is the detailed process.
-
Processing of samples
We perform appropriate pre-treatment steps on urine samples to clean the sample and extract the target molecules.
-
Glycoprotein extraction: We extract glycoproteins from urine through precipitation or other methods.
-
Glycoprotein purification: Then use centrifugation, chromatography, and other methods to purify the extracted glycoprotein.
-
Enzymatic cleavage and release of glycans: We use appropriate enzymes (such as PNGase F) or chemical methods to release glycans from glycoproteins.
-
Glycosyl purification and enrichment: We purify and enrich the released glycans for subsequent glycoprofiling.
-
Analysis of samples
We offer a variety of advanced technologies and methods for glycoprofiling of urine.
-
Chromatography-mass spectrometry: Chromatography-mass spectrometry is used to separate and quantify different types of sugar molecules in urine.
-
Nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR): By measuring the NMR signal in urine samples, the structural information of sugar molecules is obtained to achieve glycoprofiling.
-
Capillary electrophoresis (CE): It is used to separate and quantify sugars in urine with high resolution and sensitivity.
-
Mass spectrometry imaging (MSI): We use MSI technology to conduct spatial quantitative analysis of the distribution of sugars in urine at the tissue section level.
-
Fluorescent labeling: We label sugar molecules in urine by using fluorescent labeling agents, and perform quantitative analysis using fluorescence detection methods.
-
Glycan microarray: We perform high-throughput sugar identification and quantitative analysis by immobilizing different sugars on glass slides.

Results: The authors developed an efficient slide-based method combined with mass spectrometry imaging to detect N-glycan components in urine. The authors combined target glycoproteins with amine-reactive slides, followed by N-glycosidase digestion to release N-glycans, and then combined MALDI-IMS technology to detect N-glycan profiles in urine samples. The results show that the N-glycan assay developed by the authors applies to the detection of other biological fluids and also to the analysis of larger clinical cohort samples.
