Are you currently facing challenges with complex neurochemical analysis, inconsistent data, slow turnaround times, or difficulty in identifying key biomarkers? Neurotransmitters are chemicals responsible for transmitting information in the nervous system. They play a key role in regulating emotions, cognition, behavior, and physiological functions. Different types of neurotransmitters, such as dopamine, serotonin, and norepinephrine, are closely related to mental health, neurodegenerative diseases, and other psychological disorders. Therefore, it is crucial to perform neurotransmitter quantitative analysis services. This analysis can not only help researchers reveal the changes of neurotransmitters under different physiological and pathological states but also provide valuable data support for drug development and clinical treatment, thereby promoting a deeper understanding of the function of the nervous system and the effective management of related diseases. Through precise quantitative analysis, researchers can better identify biomarkers, achieve personalized treatment, and improve the quality of life of patients. Creative Biolabs focuses on providing clients with high-quality neurotransmitter analysis to help them gain a deep understanding of the dynamic changes of various neurotransmitters in organisms. Whether you are conducting basic research or drug development, we can provide professional and reliable Metabolism Analysis support.
Creative Biolabs's neurotransmitter quantitative analysis service helps you obtain accurate and reliable neurotransmitter profiles, accelerate research timelines, and uncover critical insights into neurological disorders, mental health, and gut-brain axis interactions through advanced mass spectrometry (MS) and high-performance liquid chromatography (HPLC) platforms. We deliver accurate quantification of a broad panel of neurotransmitters and their metabolites, enabling the identification of subtle neurochemical imbalances. Our service supports critical stages of drug discovery, from target identification and lead optimization to validation. Our thorough workflow is structured to promote clarity, efficiency, and accuracy, guaranteeing a smooth experience for our clients.
Creative Biolabs provides comprehensive quantitative analysis for a wide array of neurotransmitters and related compounds. Before starting a project, clients usually need to provide the following information.
Creative Biolabs employs state-of-the-art analytical platforms, primarily liquid chromatography-tandem mass spectrometry (LC-MS/MS), for the precise and sensitive quantification of neurotransmitters. This combined approach offers superior sensitivity, selectivity, and throughput, making it ideal for comprehensive neurotransmitter profiling in complex biological samples. This robust methodology involves:
Meticulous extraction and purification of neurotransmitters from various biological matrices (e.g., brain tissue homogenates, plasma, cerebrospinal fluid, cell lysates). This step is critical to remove interfering substances and concentrate the analytes.
Samples are injected into an HPLC system, where individual neurotransmitters are separated according to their physicochemical properties as they pass through a specialized column. This ensures that each compound is resolved before detection.
The separated neurotransmitters then enter the mass spectrometer. Here, they are ionized and fragmented, and their unique mass-to-charge ratios are detected. Tandem mass spectrometry (MS/MS) provides an additional layer of specificity, allowing for highly accurate identification and quantification even at very low concentrations.
Sophisticated software is used to process the raw mass spectrometry data, generate calibration curves, and precisely quantify each neurotransmitter.

This article describes an HPLC-MS/MS method for quantitatively analyzing eight key neurochemicals in brain tissue. The primary application of this method was to investigate alterations in neurotransmitter profiles in a rat model of Alzheimer's disease (AD). The study meticulously compared the concentrations of these neurochemicals across three distinct groups: healthy control rodents, those afflicted with induced AD, and AD-affected rats that received therapeutic interventions, specifically an extract from Xanthoceras sorbifolia or huperzine. The investigation revealed significant imbalances in neurotransmitter levels in the AD model. Notably, dopamine, norepinephrine, and acetylcholine concentrations were observed to decline, while L-tryptophan levels exhibited an increase. Intriguingly, the administration of X. sorbifolia extract and huperzine demonstrated a restorative effect, bringing the levels of acetylcholine and L-tryptophan back toward a more typical range. These findings suggest that acetylcholine and L-tryptophan could potentially serve as indicators for monitoring the effectiveness of treatments for Alzheimer's disease.
