Product Overview Recombinant Varicella-zoster virus (strain Dumas) Envelope glycoprotein L (22-159 aa) was expressed in E. coli with a 10xHis-tag at the N-terminus and a Myc-tag at the C-terminus. The biological activity was determined by its binding ability in a functional ELISA. This product can be used in ELISA, WB, IP.

Target gL
Full Name Envelope glycoprotein L
Uniprot ID P09308
Background The heterodimer glycoprotein H-glycoprotein L is required for the fusion of viral and plasma membranes leading to virus entry into the host cell. Acts as a functional inhibitor of gH and maintains gH in an inhibited form. Upon binding to host integrins, gL dissociates from gH leading to activation of the viral fusion glycoproteins gB and gH.
Alternate Names gL; ORF60
