| Description | GlycoErase™ HK1 knockout HEK293 cell line is a human embryonic kidney (HEK293) model in which HK1 expression has been deleted. HK1 encodes a ubiquitous hexokinase localized to the outer mitochondrial membrane, phosphorylating glucose in the first step of glycolysis. Mutations are linked to hemolytic anemia due to hexokinase deficiency. This knockout model supports investigations of glycolytic flux, mitochondrial glucose handling, and red blood cell metabolism, with applications in hematology, energy metabolism, and rare disease research. |
