Antigen Information
Introduction
Papillomaviruses (PV) are carcinogenic DNA viruses capable of infecting skin and mucosal epithelial cells. The host of the viruses includes a variety of animals, and humans are also one of them. After entering the host through cut, the virus can cause papillomas or warts, but usually does not cause serious clinical symptoms. In a few cases, such sarcomas will develop into malignant tumors. There are at least 300 types of PV, and at least 200 types of human papillomavirus (HPV) have been found. All PVs have a similar genomic structure. The genome of the virus is a double-stranded circular DNA, about 8 kb, which can be divided into the E region encoding the early protein E1-E7, the L region encoding the late structural protein L1 and L2, and the non-coding region.
