Introduction
Getah Virus is a member of the genus Alphavirus. It is a mosquito-borne arbovirus that mainly infects pigs and horses. It is widely distributed in Southeast Asia and northern Australia. In addition to spreading through mosquitoes, Getah Virus can also spread between horses through aerosols. It is currently believed that the virus does not cause disease to humans, but the presence of neutralizing antibodies against the virus has been found in humans. Inactivated Getah Virus was prepared as a vaccine for immunizing horses.
