Introduction
Lipopolysaccharide (LPS), a molecule produced by gram-negative bacteria, functions as a natural immune enhancer and strongly activates the immune system. It triggers immune responses via the TLR4 pathway. LPS primarily promotes Th1 immune reactions; however, under specific conditions, low-dose inhaled LPS can induce Th2 responses. Despite its effectiveness as an adjuvant, the pyrogenic effects of LPS have hindered its use in clinical vaccine applications.
