Background

Generally, the use of fiber as a drug delivery carrier has the ability to deliver the drug directly to the site where treatment is required, to achieve targeted administration, and to extend the residence time of the drug at the site of administration, reducing the number of administrations, while reducing drug content of blood circulation by local administration, thus avoiding the systemic side effects, and therefore tends to be more favored than systemic administration. The process of manufacturing polymer fibers is known as spinning, a special form of extrusion that uses a spinneret to form a plurality of continuous filaments. Spinning generally has the following forms of wet spinning, dry spinning, dry jet-wet spinning, melt spinning, gel spinning, and electrospinning.

BioFiber™ - Biodegradable, Implantable, Removable and Drug Release Sustained

BioFiber™ is a proprietary technology from Creative Biolabs that produces fiber at room temperature, thus ensuring that the sensitive drug it carries can maintain its activity, and because the material is biodegradable, its safety is guaranteed. BioFiber™ is arguably a universal drug delivery method. In the first place, this technology can be applied to the fiberification of most polymers on the market (for example, PLLA, PLGA, PDO, PDLL, PCL, etc.) and prepared into a useful drug delivery carrier; second, this technology can be applied to a variety of drug types including vaccines, as well as antibiotics, growth factors, oligonucleotides, anti-tumor drugs, proteins, enzymes, and even intact viruses.
