PolyLGA™ - Polymer-based Absorbable Drug Delivery Platform

PolyLGA™
The use of poly(lactide-co-glycolide) (PLGA)-based particles in the targeted delivery and controlled release of biomolecules has received increasing attention. They can deliver a variety of drugs, including proteins, small molecules, and nucleic acids, and are therefore suitable for vaccines that use proteins and nucleic acids as antigenic components. More importantly, synergistic effects can be achieved by embedding multiple other factors simultaneously in the PLGA particles. Therefore, PLGA has been approved by the US FDA for biodegradable surgical sutures, drug delivery vehicles, and tissue engineering support. The PLGA can be used as a scaffold or particle to delivery various bioactive molecules, and the release rate of these biomolecules can be controlled by adjusting the size of the molecule and the ratio of lactide to glycide in the polymer.
PolyLGA™ is developed based on the above principles. We use the parallel particle production (PPP) process to produce PolyLGA™, which produces hundreds of composite particle formulations with multiple co-encapsulations in standard polystyrene multiwell plates within 24 hours, providing fast, low cost, high throughput production.
