GlycoErase™ ALDOA Knockout HEK293 Cell Line

CAT#: GLJF-0825-JF378

Datasheet Request COA
Overview
Description
GlycoErase™ ALDOA knockout HEK293 cell line is a human embryonic kidney (HEK293) model lacking ALDOA expression. ALDOA is a glycolytic enzyme that catalyzes the cleavage of fructose-1,6-bisphosphate into glyceraldehyde 3-phosphate and dihydroxyacetone phosphate. Mutations in ALDOA are associated with Glycogen Storage Disease XII and linked to hemolytic anemia, while its dysregulation has been implicated in tumor progression. The knockout of ALDOA in the HEK293 background provides a human-relevant system for dissecting glycolytic control, metabolic flux, and cancer-associated energy reprogramming, and supports applications in metabolic disorder modeling, cancer biology, and glycolysis-targeted therapeutic development.

Summary
This class I fructose-bisphosphate aldolase catalyzes the reversible conversion of fructose-1,6-bisphosphate to glyceraldehyde 3-phosphate and dihydroxyacetone phosphate. Isozymes A, B, and C are expressed at different developmental stages. Mutations cause Glycogen Storage Disease XII and are associated with cancer. Pseudogenes are found on chromosomes 3 and 10.
