GlycoErase™ ALDOA Knockout HepG2 Cell Line

CAT#: GLJF-0825-JF610

Datasheet Request COA
Overview
Description
GlycoErase™ ALDOA knockout HepG2 cell line removes ALDOA expression, a glycolytic enzyme catalyzing the cleavage of fructose-1,6-bisphosphate into glyceraldehyde-3-phosphate and dihydroxyacetone phosphate. ALDOA mutations are linked to Glycogen Storage Disease XII and hemolytic anemia, and its dysregulation is associated with cancer progression. This knockout enables analysis of glycolytic flux, metabolic reprogramming, and energy regulation, supporting cancer metabolism and liver-specific metabolic studies.

Summary
This gene encodes a class I fructose-bisphosphate aldolase, a glycolytic enzyme that catalyzes the reversible cleavage of fructose-1,6-bisphosphate into glyceraldehyde 3-phosphate and dihydroxyacetone phosphate. Three aldolase isozymes (A, B, C) are differentially expressed during development. Mutations can lead to glycogen storage disease XII with hemolytic anemia and have been implicated in cancer progression. Related pseudogenes exist on chromosomes 3 and 10.
