Description GlycoErase™ AMY2A knockout HEK293T cell line is a human embryonic kidney (HEK293T) model in which AMY2A expression has been eliminated. AMY2A encodes a pancreatic alpha-amylase that initiates starch and glycogen hydrolysis by cleaving 1,4-alpha-glucosidic bonds. In a human cellular background, loss of AMY2A enables mechanistic studies of secreted hydrolase biosynthesis, trafficking, and isoform-specific control of carbohydrate breakdown, supporting applications in metabolic disease modeling, digestive enzyme biology, and therapeutic enzyme engineering.
