GlycoErase™ ALDOC Knockout HEK293T Cell Line

CAT#: GLJF-0825-JF495

Datasheet Request COA
Overview
Description
GlycoErase™ ALDOC knockout HEK293T cell line is a HEK293T model in which ALDOC expression has been eliminated. ALDOC is a glycolytic enzyme that catalyzes the aldol cleavage of fructose-1,6-bisphosphate and fructose-1-phosphate, and it is expressed predominantly in the hippocampus and Purkinje cells of the brain. Removal of ALDOC in the HEK293T background creates a model to investigate glycolytic regulation, neuronal metabolic pathways, and the role of energy metabolism in neurodegeneration, supporting applications in neuroscience, brain metabolism research, and glycolysis-focused drug discovery.

Summary
The brain-specific form of fructose-bisphosphate aldolase, found in the hippocampus and Purkinje cells, catalyzes the reversible breakdown of fructose-1,6-bisphosphate and fructose 1-phosphate into dihydroxyacetone phosphate and glyceraldehyde-3-phosphate or glyceraldehyde.
