GlycoErase™ ALDOC Knockout HepG2 Cell Line

CAT#: GLJF-0825-JF611

Datasheet Request COA
Overview
Description
GlycoErase™ ALDOC knockout HepG2 cell line eliminates ALDOC, a glycolytic enzyme that cleaves fructose-1,6-bisphosphate and fructose-1-phosphate, normally enriched in neuronal tissues such as hippocampus and Purkinje cells. In a hepatic background, its removal provides a tool to study glycolytic regulation, metabolic plasticity, and energy metabolism pathways, supporting applications in cancer research, metabolic disorder modeling, and glycolysis-focused drug discovery.

17q11.2
Gene ID
Summary
This gene encodes a class I fructose-bisphosphate aldolase expressed in the hippocampus and Purkinje cells. It catalyzes the reversible cleavage of fructose-1,6-bisphosphate and fructose-1-phosphate into dihydroxyacetone phosphate and glyceraldehyde-3-phosphate or glyceraldehyde, respectively.
