| Description | GlycoErase™ AMY2A knockout HEK293 cell line is a human embryonic kidney (HEK293) model in which AMY2A expression has been eliminated. AMY2A encodes a pancreatic alpha-amylase isoenzyme that hydrolyzes 1,4-alpha-glucosidic bonds in dietary starch and glycogen, initiating carbohydrate digestion. The knockout of AMY2A in the HEK293 background provides a human-relevant system for studying pancreatic enzyme function, carbohydrate utilization, and energy balance, supporting applications in metabolic disease modeling, digestive enzyme biology, and translational research on carbohydrate-processing disorders. |
